Robb McLarty

Robb McLarty is a Principal at NGEN. Prior to NGEN, he worked for three years at Ziff Brothers Investments, a multi-billion dollar private investment firm, where he was responsible for identifying transformative information and energy technologies. Mr. McLarty advised the firm’s Chief Investment Strategist on innovations in biofuels, coal gasification, coal to liquids, electric vehicles, heavy oil, hydrogen, nuclear and photovoltaics.

Before joining Ziff Brothers, Mr. McLarty interned at IBM’s venture capital group while earning an MBA at the Yale School of Management. During its startup, he was a key contributor to Bill Me Later, a payment option at hundreds of online merchants including Amazon, the Apple Store, Continental Airlines and Walmart. Earlier, Mr. McLarty worked in product development and engineering at Nortel Networks and CAE.

Mr. McLarty is a graduate of Queen’s University, Canada (BSc Electrical Engineering) and Yale University (MBA).
